Halos Chick

Materials:

  • Wonderful Halos mandarin
  • yellow paper
  • yellow pipe cleaner
  • googly eyes

Instructions:

  1. Cut the chick’s wings from yellow paper. You can create a featured effect by cutting little slits into the paper’s edge. Fold them back at the base and secure to the sides of the Halo with glue dots.
  2. Use a yellow pipe cleaner to form the legs and feet.
  3. Fold yellow paper and cut a little triangle for the beak. Use glue dots to add the beak and googly eyes.
  4. Post a photo of your sweet Halos chick with #halosfun

The boys were pretty excited to actually get a chance to “play” with their food and the Wonderful Halos, really seemed to get their artistic juices flowing! They created the suggested crafts: Halos Chick, Halos Bunny and a bunch of their own creations too!

Using small terra-cotta flower pots, paper straws, cupcake liners and Wonderful Halos, they created their own versions of a mandarin flower adding googly eyes and pipe cleaner mouths for added personality.

Crafting with Wonderful Halos could go on and on and the boys created an army of silly creatures using the mandarins including aliens, a “snow-woman”, a caterpillar, bunnies and a host of other creations. Get your little ones crafting and use #HalosFun to show off their creations!

All the snacks on hand incorporated Wonderful Halos in a variety of ways, there was salsa, salad, smoothies and spiced cider! Here are a few of my favorite recipes.
