One thing my family has missed during this pandemic is our days out on the slopes skiing and snowboarding. The 2020 ski season will definitely look very different this year due to social distancing guidelines and sanitization. We were not sure how and when we would kick off this season but we were invited to experience Big Snow Day American Dream in New Jersey at their indoor skiing and snowboarding park!

Big Snow is open daily with intensive health and safety precautions. This indoor real-snow year round ski and snow complex truly makes everyday a snow day with lesson programs and a variety of packages for all ability levels.

Camp Big ($149 + tax) is the children’s programming that provides a variety of semi-private lessons that max out at 4 participants. This is a 3-hour program that includes 3 hour slope access, ski/snowboard equipment rental, helmet, outerwear (if needed) but BYO gloves! Camp Big is available for children ages 5-7 & 8-12 in range of levels.

This drop-off children’s program allowed us parents, to explore Big Snow on our own…spotting the kids in their lessons from time to time and even getting the chance to take a run with them. The instructors were very alert and focused on the students needs and working on specific skills.

After we checked the kids in to their three hours of Camp Big, we checked ourselves in which was a pretty thorough process. The Big Snow safety protocols included temperature checks, maintaining a 6 foot distance from others not in your party wheel on line and wearing a mask at ALL times while on and off the slopes.

Packages for Big Snow include a 2-hour slope access ticket (kids 6 and under are free with an adult ticket purchase). There is also a snow day package that provides you with EVERYTHING you need for a day on the slopes (ski/snowboard equipment rental, outerwear [pants/jackets], helmet, 2-hour slope access ticket and complimentary access to the terrain based learning skills areas and dedicated instructors.

According to his ski school evaluation, he will soon be ready for the indoor terrain park

We really enjoyed kicking off our 2020 season indoors at Big Snow American Dream and are looking forward to getting back very soon!
